ARTIST STATEMENT: 2020 was a horrific year for partisan politics and Covid-19 related tragedies. I love to travel and occasionally glam it up, so by creating this artwork, I somewhat channeled my distress with travel restrictions and social distancing limitations that everyone had to endure. Feeling blessed with no illnesses in the family and being able to create art was my solace.
This artwork features the glamour of a beaded gown and jewelry, surrounded by worldwide passport travel stamps.
The original artwork is a framed, Mixed-Media (paper, textured gels, acrylic paint, metal, glass beads) Collage on canvas.
